Oil pastel, ongoing series of 100
Each piece begins with a colour and no plan for where it will go. I work in oil pastel, one colour phase at a time, and let the material show me what comes next: how the colours meet, what they blur into, what resists. Marks stay where they land, because the series is a record of looking and responding, not of getting something right.
There are a hundred pieces, numbered in the order they were made. Moving through colour this way is a slow experiment in staying with what can’t be predicted, which is the same question the vessels ask from another direction.
